Image Forthcoming
B. 9 June 1846 at Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland
D. 22 March 1920, Sierre, Switzerland
Married 03 March 1889 at Rathfarnam Church, Rathfarnam, Dublin to Charles Auguste Petitjean of Rue Marbeuf, 18, Paris, a gentleman of 31 years of age, when Matilda was approaching her 43rd birthday.
From our collection, painted by Matilda when she was 24 years old.
This lovely plate, signed on the reverse,
“Designed and painted by Matilda Stoker, 1870”,
was found a few years ago in a Paris flea market by a kind soul
who felt it should be returned it Matilda’s family, and searched us out.
Thank you, Melissa.
