In this interesting article, Geoff Barker of Australia’s Powerhouse Museum, connected many dots between Dracula, Transylvania, vampires, and leeches.
In the 1800‘s, Dublin physicians, notably Dr. William Stoker, used leeches in treating a variety of ailments. Dr. William Stoker was the father of Dr. E.A.Stoker, cousin of Bram Stoker’s father. Our research points to E.A.Stoker as the relative who treated young Bram Stoker during his mysterious childhood illness.
